New to Argyle ISD? A Dated Guide to AEF's Impact and Programs

A practical orientation for families and neighbors: what the Argyle Education Foundation is, how to read its reported 2025–2026 investment, and which program dates matter as of November 4, 2026.

Begin with the foundation, not just the total

The Argyle Education Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit created by community members and parents to benefit Argyle ISD. Its published story says it has served the district since 2003 and contributed more than $2.3 million since then.

The district's AEF page adds the origin: in 2002, Adele Foster and Rudy Menn envisioned a stronger future for Argyle ISD, and the foundation was established in 2003. That background is useful for a newcomer because it frames the foundation as a continuing local organization.

Read the annual total with its school-year label

At the October 2026 Argyle ISD School Board meeting, AEF presented $172,831.22 representing funds invested during the 2025–2026 school year. The foundation describes that money as reflecting donors, sponsors, community partners, and supporters.

The same impact summary lists 400 teacher bonuses, teacher grants with the CoServ Charitable Foundation, scholarships for graduating seniors, and teacher recognition including Teacher of the Year awards. Those are program categories. The total and the categories belong together, but the page does not present them as an even split or a per-program budget.

Check the date on scholarships before planning

AEF lists four $1,000 scholarships each spring: the CoServ STEM Scholarship, the Rudy Menn Community Service Scholarship, the Cantrell Health Science Scholarship, and the Sawko Burroughs Scholarship.

For the 2026 cycle, applications closed on April 17, 2026, at 4 p.m. Central, and the next cycle is to be announced. As of November 4, 2026, that means the 2026 information is an archive, not an open application. Families should wait for the next cycle announcement before planning a submission.

Keep future events and year-round giving separate

The 2027 AEF Gala, An Old Hollywood Affair, is scheduled for April 24, 2027, at The Reserve at Marty B's in Bartonville. It is a future fundraiser, not a description of the 2025–2026 investment already presented.

Friend of the Foundation is AEF's year-round monthly giving campaign. The published options are $25, $50, and $100 per month, plans renew monthly, and a one-time gift is also offered. These are separate ways to engage, with different timing from the gala.

Use the program page to confirm what is current

A newcomer does not need to memorize every figure. A simpler habit is to check the label on each AEF item: a founding year, a school year behind an annual total, or a future event date. That prevents an old result from looking like a current budget and a future event from looking like a completed one.

For current availability, AEF's gala page directs supporters to confirm sponsor options through Zeffy or Cara. Scholarship pages explain eligibility and deadlines by cycle. Starting with the foundation's story page gives families the context to read those details accurately.
